Portulano Dive Resort
With the luminous water plus the house reef in front of the inn, one can just jump in and dive. Moreover, diving or snorkeling around the resort one can see exotic fish, crabs and coral species. The holiday spot is located in a secluded place and deep-seated in a hill. There are no roads that lead to the resort and only accessible by a short boat ride from designated parking area. A good thing about the resort, it is owned and operated by a couple who are hands on in the day-to-day undertakings of the resort. The husband and wife team make sure that every need of a holidaymaker is serve to its full extent. With the good example set by the owners, the staffs are very warm, helpful and friendly. The resort offers scuba diving facilities and services like gear rentals; boat diving and dive instruction services are at hand at the resort. The equipment area is spacious clean and well maintained. Aside from diving and snorkeling, trekking the nearby mountain gives you a spectacular view of Balayan Bay. Untouched mountain trees provide shade to the hikers; along the route the climber brush upon lovely trees and foliage, which makes the trek exhilarating. Best of all, Portulano Dive Resort accommodations are affordable which include meals. All rooms have an ocean view with a balcony plus a lounging chair. Guest can choose an air-conditioned room or just opt to have a fan room, which has a wall-to-wall door to the balcony that can be left open for fresh cool breeze. The resort serves mostly Filipino dishes. I love the fresh grilled fish, grilled pork liempo and their vegetable salad. Food service is good and informs guest of any need before the kitchen closes at night. A word of advice, the resort by the way allows guest to bring drinks and snacks inside the resort. You will be saving big bucks, especially if you love drinking your favorite spirits while on a vacation. It is a good idea to bring a small cooler with you, as there is a helpful guy who loads and unloads your things from the boat upon arrival and departure. Just don’t forget to hand him a tip. Well, if you are not a diver, this does not mean that Portulano Dive Resort is not a getaway spot for you. The resort has an infinity salt-water pool for you to cool off and relax. Guest can have their favorite book or magazine at hand, while comfortably relaxing at the sundeck as the gentle wind refreshes you all day. With all the natural settings at the resort, your vacation at the resort will be a stimulating holiday.
